Health Equity Data Hub: Overview

The Ministry of Health (MoH) is consistently enhancing the national HIV surveillance system. This is to sustain and institute ownership of the great progress toward meeting the HIV Epidemic control targets of 95-95-95 which currently stands at 89-98-96. However, some populations in Zambia remain disproportionately impacted by HIV and require additional support which demands innovative strategies.

The Health equity data hub is a platform that allows senior leadership from the government and key stakeholders to routinely review data and provide strategic guidance for the HIV response.

The health equity data hub has been set up to enhance an integrated HIV surveillance system that seamlessly brings together various HIV surveillance systems to provide a holistic understanding of the progress towards HIV epidemic control. It provides comprehensive, automated, frequently updated data with data visualization for HIV surveillance. To ensure equity, the initiative leverages the existing systems built from the various collaborative investments in the HIV program.
